Having all met when studying together at institutions such as the VCA and NMIT around 10 years ago, each member has forged a strong individual career in their own right with members having toured and studied extensively including in New York and the USA, Europe, The UK and Asia.

It’s a damp night under the city lights. In a Sentimental Mood, a Sophisticated Lady strolls on the A Train: “Things Ain’t What They Used To Be” she whispers and adds “I Got It Bad and That Ain’t Good. Would a Fleurette Africaine be an appropriate Prelude To A Kiss?”

The Maryborough Traditional Jazz Ensemble has been around the Jazz scene for many years playing at various Festivals and Jazz Clubs throughout Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales. They are well known for their foot tapping/dancing music.

The Benny Goodman / Billie Holiday Sessions. Andy Firth, Australia’s virtuoso clarinet player, teams up with songstress Rebecca Mendoza in concert presenting the music of Benny Goodman and Billie Holiday from the Verve and Decca years.

Ade Ishs is a composer, a pianist, and a bandleader residing in Melbourne. His musical style revolves around contemporary jazz, classical, folk, and meditational.

VENUE CRAIG'S ROYAL HOTEL

Paige Duggan's approach to jazz is raw and honest; revelling in it as an art-form with experimentation, improvisation and risk central to the approach of every song. Her style offers many surprises and her voice is distinct from her contemporary peers.

GEORGIA BROOKS SWINGTET

JAZZ GENRE - SWING

A rising star in the Australian jazz scene, Georgia Brooks wows audiences wherever she goes. She has assembled some of the finest musicians alongside her and together they relish performing anywhere from a rip-roaring swing dance to the more subdued and dynamic concert setting.

THE GUITAR - FROM BLUES TO GYPSY SWING TO JAZZ

JAZZ GENRE - Blues, Mainstream, Gypsy Swing

VENUE SEBASTIAANS CAFE

Showcasing these five talented guitarists, Mick Trembath, Peter Baylor, Ashley Kluss, Wayne Parker and Barry Deenick (Bass), will present to you a marvellous afternoon of music and demonstrate how the guitar has been a major influence in the history of jazz and blues.

JACKSON FOUR

JAZZ GENRE -BLUES AND SWING

7.30 — 10.30pm

VENUE MINERS TAVERN

The Jackson Four have been impressing audiences across Australia and internationally since 2013 with their New Orleans inspired Blues and Swingin’ Jazz. They were the ‘surprise hit’ of the Devonport Jazz Festival 2017 with three full house shows.

ANDREA KELLER

JAZZ GENRE - ORIGINAL CONTEMPORARY JAZZ

Described as having “one of Australia’s most consistently interesting musical minds” (Doug Spencer 2007), Andrea Keller is a multi-award winning improvising pianist and composer dedicated to the performance and creation of contemporary jazz and improvised music.
