We are privileged to welcome Juliarna for this performance. Juliarna can be found working with her own line-up of trios to septets at Jazz venues, art galleries, Jazz clubs and jazz festivals. She performs as a guest vocalist with many well known jazz bands and at various locations.
2018 has seen her perform at The Paris Cat, The Butterfly Club, The Jay Theatre Noosa, St Claire Country House, Mornington Jazz club, Werribee Jazz Club, The Waterrat Hotel, Wine O'Clock Wine Bar, Geelong City Council, and the MS Paul Gaugain sailing around Tahiti with the Jazzdagen Allstars, performing regularly with many fantastic jazz musicians including Stephen Grant, Richard Miller, Rod Gilbert, James Clark, Peter Meiers, Eddie Metz (USA), Randy Morris (USA), Michael Harding, Sam Lemann, Tony Floyd, Gianni Marinucci, Steve Sedergreen, Wilbur Wilde, the John Montesante Quintet and Howard Cairns.

Trumpeter Mat Jodrell is one of the most exciting voices in Jazz today. He has recently returned to Australia after having lived in New York City for the past eight years, performing around the city and teaching at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music.
During his time in the States, Mat was a regular member of many ensembles. Mat has had the opportunity to perform with the likes of Benny Golson, Ron Carter, Herbie Hancock, Branford Marsalis, Carl Allen, Bill Watrous and Gary Bartz to name but a few. Between 2008 and 2012 Mat has performed regularly on Broadway with the shows ‘Hair’ and ‘After Midnight’ and continues to work with legendary singer Paul Anka with whom he has toured throughout the globe.
He has performed in many of the world’s most famous jazz clubs in New York City including the Vanguard, Blue Note, Dizzy’s and Birdland, as well as touring to many of the largest festivals including the Newport Jazz Festival and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Mat completed his Masters of Music and Artist Diploma from the Juilliard School of Music, and was on faculty from 2011 - 2015. He continues to tour the world as leader, sideman and guest soloist.
Mat is featured on numerous recordings, and released his debut record ‘Blues In The Night’ in 2004.
Steve is one of Melbourne's jazz identities, known as a leading pianist, arranger of jazz projects and as an educator. Steve's passion for teaching jazz as well as his unique hands-on approach uses the best of both worlds - combining the relevant and necessary theory of music with the practicalities of performance experience.
Steve formed Mistaken Identity in 1985 while studying at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and led it through numerous incarnations, line-ups and produced five recordings. Mistaken Identity has performed at numerous festivals around the country and other events including the Fringe Festival and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
Steve has been a well-established figure in the Melbourne jazz scene through a variety of activities including director and curator of Dizzy’s Jazz Club (1999 - 2006); 20 years of teaching jazz (including mentoring members of ‘The Cat Empire’) and of course as a constantly in-demand musician over a wide range of performance situations, from jazz clubs to corporate events; private parties.
