Nadira is a fresh face in Australian jazz scene who brings her diverse individual style of wit and sensitivity. Soon after she started her jazz ensemble in 2014 called Nadira and Friends in Hobart, she started performing at all Tasmanian jazz festivals and a number of jazz festivals in VIC and WA. She has also performed at renowned music venues and jazz clubs in TAS, VIC, and QLD.
A combo of her natural singing ability, warm personality and comical banter, quickly gained her dedicated followers in TAS and VIC, resulting in multiple SOLD OUT shows.
Dubbed as “pocket rocket”, she continues to effortlessly showcasing her cheeky and modern take on well-loved jazz and show tunes from the Great American Songbook.
This time, paying tributes to The Great Ladies of Jazz, Nadira will perform her unmistakable unique phrasing influenced by Billie Holiday and Carmen McRae, a touch of sass influenced by Sarah Vaughan, a heartfelt story-telling ability and captivating stage-presence. Expect a fun-filled night full of all-time favourite jazz and show tunes, and a lot of laughter in between songs. Pretty much expect "the usual" Nadira and Friends’ style of loose and non-pretentious interpretation of jazz.
